This role’s core function is to provide strategic, operational and administrative HR support to the business through appropriate advice and best solutions. We are looking for an experienced and results-driven HR business partner to align our HR initiatives and functions with business objectives and business needs. The incumbent’s experience in end to end HR management will support our business in unlocking the HR value proposition, providing HR solutions, support in addressing all IR related matters, retaining a talented workforce and ensuring compliance with relevant labour law regulations, as amended from time to time.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Talent Acquisition & Talent Management
- Managing the recruitment process (advertising, interviewing, pre-onboarding & onboarding)
- Enhancing recruitment efforts with the goal of recruiting the right talent
- Employee Pipeline development
- Managing the performance management, ill health and incapacity process and administration
- Monitoring and reporting on workforce and succession planning
- Training all new Managers on applicable HR systems
- Enrol all new employees on the LMS and EMS System
People & Policies
- Managing relationships with management, employees, external and internal stakeholders
- Aligning employees to business objectives to support the HR business partner methodology
- Promoting a sound employee relations climate
- Managing disciplinary hearings
- Providing HR policy guidance and interpretation
- Working closely with all internal and external stakeholders to improve work relationships, build morale and increase overall employee productivity
- Conducting and providing feedback/insights on employee exit surveys
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Submission of Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly reporting for relevant Management teams and forums
- Providing accurate, timely and comprehensive reporting including business improvement recommendations
- Continuously analyzing employee trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies
Industrial Relations
- Grievance resolution
- Representing the organization at dispute resolution bodies (DRC/CCMA)
- Familiar with MIBCO agreements
- Comfortable with engaging with external stakeholders (Unions, etc)
Qualifications and experience required:
- 3-5 years HR generalist experience
- Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Human Resource Management or Industrial Psychology/Relations
- Postgraduate qualification in Industrial Psychology/Relations will be highly advantageous
- Thorough knowledge and application of applicable labour legislation
- The successful candidate should be based in Gauteng
- Experience in working on both Sage and ESS platforms
Key Skills and Attributes required:
- Experience in HR Legislation framework (LRA, BCEA, EE, BBBEE Act etc.)
- Experience in HR Risk Management
- Sound knowledge of Job Profiling & Grading
- Proven experience in Performance Management processes
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (both above and below the chain of command)
- Analytical and Problem-solving skills
- Deadline and results driven
- Proactive nature, executing on tasks with a sense of urgency
