Role Purpose
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team at Unifi Tanzania. In this role, you will manage the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on employee engagement, employee relations, performance management, and recruitment. You will be a key partner to line managers, driving an exceptional employee experience and fostering a high-performance culture.

Responsibilities
- Participate in driving strategic HR initiatives to foster a high-performance culture, uphold HR standards, and implement action plans.
- Ensure all HR activities comply with relevant regulations, and provide monthly and ad-hoc reports on key HR metrics.
- Train staff on HR systems and processes to ensure adoption, and communicate learning and development needs.
- Train and develop line managers to handle employee relations effectively, support them with people matters, coordinate capability and disciplinary hearings, communicate outcomes, and ensure follow-through.
- Support wellness programs throughout the employee lifecycle and promote team-building activities across functional units.
- Guide the end-to-end performance management process, help managers and new hires set probationary and long-term KPIs, facilitate continuous feedback/coaching discussions, and collaborate with L&D to address underperformance.
- Coordinate and manage full-cycle recruitment activities to fulfil staffing needs.
- Monitor and track vacancies to ensure closure within acceptable timelines.
- Provide comprehensive support to the department throughout the hiring process, ensuring strict compliance with HR protocols.
- Develop line managers' skills in the resourcing process and train them on how to use available hiring tools effectively.
- Provide clear information about the role to help new employees understand their responsibilities, purpose, and impact at Unifi.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of all onboarding documentation, including employment contracts, compliance agreements, and payroll data.
- Partner with hiring managers to assign a buddy or mentor to help new hires integrate into the team and company culture.
- Schedule regular check-ins and feedback sessions with new hires and their managers to assess engagement and provide support.
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology. A professional HR certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HR Generalist role.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance requirements and the ability to provide sound advice on HR policies and practices.
- Proven skill in handling complex employee relations issues and conducting thorough, compliant investigations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for effectively conveying HR guidelines and initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, earn trust, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the company.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex situations, handle grievances, and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to make informed, data-driven decisions that successfully balance employee needs with business objectives.
- High level of integrity with a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with total discretion.
