We are seeking a passionate, strategic, and experienced Environmental and Conservation Manager to lead and drive our environmental and conservation objectives within Namibia.

This role is directly responsible for overseeing key environmental, sustainability, and conservation initiatives across Wilderness Namibia concessions. The successful candidate will work closely with government stakeholders, NGOs, researchers, operational teams, and regional conservation partners to ensure Wilderness continues to lead in conservation tourism and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing Wilderness Namibia’s environmental and conservation strategy
  • Leading biodiversity monitoring, wildlife security initiatives, and environmental compliance
  • Managing conservation research programmes and ecological monitoring across concessions
  • Supporting anti-poaching, alien vegetation control, and human-wildlife conflict mitigation initiatives
  • Overseeing Environmental Management Systems (EMS) implementation and reporting
  • Building and maintaining strategic relationships with government departments, NGOs, donors, researchers, and conservation stakeholders
  • Delivering environmental awareness training and conservation education initiatives
  • Supporting conservation communication, guest engagement, media interaction, and marketing content
  • Managing environmental department budgets, assets, staff performance, and operational support functions
  • Assisting with ecosystem maintenance initiatives including fire management, road maintenance, and environmental rehabilitation activities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the conservation field
  • Master of Science degree in Ecology, Zoology, Biological Sciences, or equivalent qualification
  • Strong knowledge of environmental and conservation legislation and regulations
  • Experience in ecological monitoring, research coordination, and conservation planning
  • Scientific publications will serve as an added advantage
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively within remote concession areas
