Finance and Insurance Manager

About the Role
The Finance and Insurance Manager is responsible for overseeing financial operations related to insurance products within the organization. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance, managing risk, and optimizing financial performance by overseeing insurance-related activities that support the overall financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the company's insurance portfolio to ensure adequate coverage and cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee financial reporting and compliance related to insurance policies and claims, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with various departments to conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate financial exposure.
- Evaluate insurance claims and resolve discrepancies, working closely with claims adjusters and insurance providers.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making related to insurance products and services.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to finance and insurance operations, ensuring best practices.
- Train and support staff on financial and insurance policies to enhance knowledge and compliance across the organization.
- Foster relationships with external stakeholders, including insurance brokers and underwriters, to negotiate terms and conditions that best fit the company’s needs.

Requirements
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience in finance and insurance management, with a solid understanding of insurance products and market trends.
- Proven track record in financial analysis, risk management, and compliance functions within the insurance sector.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across departments.

Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certification in insurance or financial management, such as Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) or similar.
- Familiarity with South African insurance regulations and compliance standards.
- Experience in data analysis and financial software systems relevant to finance and insurance.
