Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Engineering Technician – HVAC to join our Maintenance Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management, maintenance support, recommissioning, and optimization of HVAC systems and related building management systems to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance engineering support to resolve plant and equipment-related issues.
• Ensure all plant and equipment data is accurately captured and maintained in CMMS (SAP).
• Conduct on-site asset verification and update SAP records accordingly.
• Link task lists and planned maintenance schedules to relevant plant and equipment.
• Compile and maintain site-specific engineering equipment instructions and job plans.
• Review and improve maintenance strategies and engineering instructions.
• Recommission HVAC and building management systems to meet original design specifications.
• Provide advisory support on statutory and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Assist with HVAC maintenance service contracts and contractor management.
• Provide Level 2 technical support for breakdowns and equipment reinstatement.
• Conduct quality audits, inspections, and job observations.
• Perform incident and failure investigations and compile detailed technical reports.
• Analyse equipment failure trends and implement preventative maintenance solutions.
• Manage plant and equipment asset lifecycle processes and maintain related databases.
• Conduct site visits and compile condition assessment reports for project and risk management purposes.
• Prepare documentation for HVAC replacement, upgrade, and refurbishment funding requests.
• Compile, process, and monitor risk notifications.
• Design and implement smaller HVAC and ventilation systems and solutions.
• Perform heat load, cooling capacity, and ventilation calculations.
• Review and maintain cooling capacity databases.
• Approve project specifications from a Compliance, Constructability, Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (CCRAM) perspective.
• Attend project meetings and conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Analyse performance reports and implement improvement initiatives.
• Compile monthly Data Centre reports.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Perform general administrative and reporting duties.
