TECHNICIAN

BASIC SALARY: R470 767 TO R519 708 PER ANNUM ● REF NO: CS 80/26 ● CIVIC CENTRE, CAPE TOWN

Requirements:   

• Relevant professional ICT qualification preference will be given to candidates with relevant 3-year tertiary qualification in Information Technology or a related field
• A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years’ relevant experience in IT infrastructure support
• A valid driver’s licence
• Solid understanding of IT hardware and software platforms, including desktop, peripheral and mobile support
• Experience in project and maintenance planning within a complex ICT environment
• Strong administrative and coordination skills.

Key performance areas:  

• To remediate incidents received via IT Service Desk, as well as undertaking general maintenance of computer hardware and software, identifying and resolving technical problems, and performing general tasks to support the City's corporate desktop users and all peripheral computer devices
• Support and maintain corporate stakeholders in the ICT infrastructure area
• Ensure that users and business requests are delivered, and the acceptable standards of service delivery are maintained and the infrastructure systems meet business requirements
• Perform administrative tasks under guidance of the superior, to ensure that records are maintained and requests/instructions adhered to
