SENIOR ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PRACTITIONER: TALENT MANAGEMENT
TCOE SALARY COMMENCING R1,071,429 PER ANNUM ● REF NO: FPR 16/26
We are seeking an Organisational Development professional who thinks systemically and innovates with purpose. This role focuses on shaping future ready capability, evolving modern talent programmes, and partnering with managers to unlock talent that delivers meaningful impact for our communities and advances the City’s Vision 2025 — a thriving city of hope.
Requirements:
- Relevant three‑year tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or a BCom degree with Human Resources as a major (Relevant postgraduate degree preferable)
- Five (5) years or more experience as an Organisational Development, Talent Management, or Senior HR Practitioner
- Experience within a large complex organisation, with specific focus on connecting People Strategy to Talent Management and Talent Development is preferred
- A valid driver’s licence is recommended
- Intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft 365 applications (including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
Key performance areas:
- Advise HR Business Partners and line management on the development and implementation of Strategic Workforce Plans and workforce gap mitigation
- Analyse workforce data and scenarios to identify trends, risks, and future capability requirements
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the organisation’s Job Architecture and Competency Management Framework
- Develop and maintain career streams and progression ladders aligned to competencies, qualifications, and role complexity
- Advise and coach managers and HR Business Partners on career, talent, and succession management practices during Talent Reviews
- Interpret and advise on succession data, highlighting readiness levels, coverage gaps, and succession risks to inform leadership decisions
- Provide recommendations on improving talent and succession practices based on workforce and talent data
- Advise stakeholders using concise dashboards and insights to address talent risks and capability gaps.
