- Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Oversee and support mechanical workshop and fabrication processes
- Compile and prepare tenders and quotations for mechanical equipment and projects
- Participate in the adjudication and evaluation of tenders
- Liaise and negotiate with fabricators, machine shops, and equipment suppliers
- Place and manage purchase orders in line with project requirements

- Verify and process supplier invoices and claims

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer/Technician to join our team in a dynamic engineering, contracting, and fabrication environment. The successful candidate will have strong experience in mechanical workshop processes, engineering draughting, and project/job management, with a solid understanding of quality control standards.
This role requires a hands-on individual who can manage mechanical equipment from tender stage through to procurement, fabrication, quality assurance, expediting, and delivery to client.

Candidate Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in a mechanical workshop / fabrication environment
- Strong ability to read & interpret engineering drawings
- Experience in job/project management and tender processes
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, supplier engagement, and expediting
- Solid understanding of QA/QC processes and standards
- Good communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Computer software literate with intermediate computer skills
