- Responsible for repairing diesel engines and all the components that help to make the engines operate efficiently.
- Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis inspections to determine cause of failure on components.
- Execute various diagnostic tests and inspections to identify component and machine defects.
- Correct vehicle (Defects) by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing impaired parts according to OEM and company procedure.
- Troubleshoot, identify and repair hydraulic and mechanical defects/breakdowns.
- Conduct primary maintenance according to OEM and company procedures.
- Ensure oil samples are filled in correctly and submitted to planning department after service has been completed.
- Ensure the continuous upkeep of preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure strict adherence to PPE, and occupational safety policies and procedures of the company.
- Collect work orders daily and complete job cards for every completed task.
- Perform thorough oil sampling, ensuring samples are taken correctly, labelled, and submitted to the planning department for analysis
Candidate Requirements
- Red Seal Trade Qualification as Diesel Mechanic.
- Min 3 year’s working experience as a qualified Diesel Mechanic.
- Experience with general Diesel Mechanic work on trucks, LDV’s and Yellow Equipment.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Clear criminal record.
- Strong mechanical and technical skills.
- Valid Driver’s License (Code 10)
