A well-established organisation operating within the retail technology and digital solutions environment is seeking an Intermediate Automation Tester to join its QA and engineering team. The role is focused on developing and maintaining scalable automated testing frameworks and reusable automation solutions across multiple engineering teams and systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving software quality, enabling reliable automated testing within development workflows, and supporting modern engineering practices through automation and AI-assisted development techniques within a collaborative DevOps-driven environment

Minimum Requirements:
Matric / Grade 12
3–5 years of experience in software testing and test automation
Diploma/Degree and/or relevant certification including ISEB/ISTQB Certification
Experience developing automated tests for APIs, services, and application platforms
Experience building or contributing to automation frameworks
Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
Experience working across multiple development teams or systems
Experience with version control systems such as Git
Strong learning mindset
Attention to detail and willingness to improve
Ability to take feedback and apply it constructively
Collaborative and team-oriented approach
Strong time management skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
Ability to design scalable automation solutions
Focus on improving testing reliability and overall engineering quality
Experience using the following technologies:
Selenium / Cucumber / Katalon
WebDriver.io / Protractor / Cucumber
Grafana
REST / SOAP

Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain shared automated testing frameworks used across engineering teams
Build reusable automation components for APIs, services, and application platforms
Ensure automation frameworks remain scalable, reliable, and maintainable
Implement automation standards defined by the QA capability
Integrate automated testing capabilities into CI/CD pipelines
Ensure automated tests run reliably across development and staging environments
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve testing infrastructure and execution pipelines on DevOps
Use AI-assisted development techniques to improve automation development and debugging
Evaluate AI-generated automation outputs to ensure reliability and correctness
