A small Audit Firm is looking for a Audit Manager.
Qualification:
· Minimum 2-years post article experience
· Management experience of more than one year (one year formal and the rest may be of an informal nature)
· Completed SAICA articles in a smaller audit firm
· Completed CTA
· Undergraduate degree not through UNISA, UJ, or Limpopo where possible
· Ability to solve issues and make things work on a practical level
· Understands business; loves accounting and helping business owners make sense of and organise their financial and business-related matters
· Energy and drive to succeed
Candidate Requirements
- Finalise financial statements and audit engagements on budget and within deadline
- Ensure work produced is accurate, reliable and trusted by clients
- Sign off financial statements where required
- Maintain full responsibility for quality control across all engagements
- Review trainee assessments proficiently and sign off on time
- Pre‑empt issues and discuss concerns with the director before problems develop
- Uphold high standards of attention to detail
- Proven capability in accounting and auditing disciplines
- Maintain satisfied clients through consistent delivery and professional conduct
- Relate courteously to a wide range of clients, from business owners with basic accounting knowledge to highly qualified professionals
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the director
- Represent the firm professionally in all client interactions
- Oversee the audit and accounting department with 5–7 SAICA trainees
- Guide trainees and staff to become skilled in their roles and progress into senior positions
- Review trainee output, provide feedback and support their professional development
- Take responsibility for juniors and their quality of work
- Demonstrate a passion for training others
- Spend time with team members reviewing their work and teaching, without becoming bogged down in detail
- Report directly to the director
- Drive deadlines and budgets across all engagements
- Maintain resilience to see jobs through under pressure or during personal challenges
- Demonstrate the ability to recover from setbacks and improve performance
- Ensure smooth departmental functioning and workflow oversight
