Role
DGMT is a South African foundation built on endowments from Douglas and Eleanor Murray to promote charitable, educational, philanthropic and artistic purposes within South Africa.
We are looking for a highly capable and purpose-driven finance manager to join our team based in Claremont, Cape Town.
The role is well-suited to someone looking for a traditional finance manager role, but is also motivated by making a meaningful social impact.
This is a permanent position funded by DGMT’s endowment and is not reliant on external donor funding.
Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for delivering measurable outputs aligned to the following key performance areas:
- Financial Accounting and Reporting
- Grants
- Operating Expenses
- Cost Recoveries
- Fixed Assets
- Treasury
- Payroll
- Tax and Other Compliance Management
- Internal Control and Risk Management
- Investments
- External Audit
The finance manager will also be expected to execute other tasks that serve to ensure the Finance, Operations and Programmes teams are aligned, especially with respect to the treasury, payments, human resources and payroll processes.
Candidate Requirements
CA(SA) is essential.
Experience
- Previous experience in a finance manager role would be beneficial, but is not essential.
Personal Characteristics
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Team player, but able to work independently as well.
- Able to coach and guide finance and non-finance staff.
