Key Responsibilities The core function of the Assistant B&G Manager is to assist with operational management, team supervision, administration, stock control, merchandising, and guest engagement while maintaining the luxury retail experience in line with the Standards of Excellence and SOP. - The B&G Assistant Manager reports to the B&G Manager. - The Assistant Manager acts as the operational lead in the Manager’s absence and ensures smooth, efficient store functionality at all times. - Undertakes a sales role to guests in a way that focuses on guest satisfaction and positive guest experience. - Ensuring the cleanliness, quality and care of equipment, inventory and shop areas. - Assists with all administrative and procedural management of the store - related to guests and inventory. - Styling of the Boutique & Gallery in accordance with standards set by head office. - Effective communication with departmental teams to ensure guests’ needs are met and operation runs smoothly. - Active participation in, and effective communication and support of conservation message and purpose. Skills & Experience - Previous experience in luxury retail or hospitality environment preferred. - Previous experience in sales. - Ability to handle very well-heeled upmarket clientele. - Ability to “sell” to guests. - Strong guest relations and communication skills - Vibrant, dynamic and organized. - Sense of style and creativity in terms of visual merchandising and styling of stock. - Passion for the industry. - Team-player by nature. - Strong administration ability. - Computer literacy (MS Office; Sage Pastel advantageous). - Leadership or supervisory experience advantageous. - Attention to detail and consistent follow-up.
