The Role
We are looking for a dynamic and proactive accountant to join our fast growing team in Uganda. The role would best suit someone who is energized by a challenge and possesses the ability to manage multiple priorities without losing focus on what is most important.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting by strictly controlling and capturing all financial transactions (per IFRS). This involves reconciling balance sheet and control accounts, conducting analytical reviews, and promptly clearing reconciling items.
- Generate and present timely periodic financial reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) and management accounts to stakeholders, including detailed variance analysis against budgets and prior periods. Calculate key statistics and KPIs, and assist in developing annual budgets and forecasts.
- Facilitate the conduct of external, internal and regulatory audits
- Manage the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, including maintaining the procurement approval framework, ensuring timely capture and scanning of all invoices, monthly reconciliation of all supplier accounts, and effective payment planning.
- Manage statutory compliance, ensuring the accurate and timely filing and payment of monthly taxes, managing corporate secretarial filings with URSB.
- Ensure compliance with all mandated regulatory reporting requirements.
- Provide ad-hoc reports to management as needed.
