About the job:
We’re looking for a motivated Debt Collector / Collections Consultant to collect debt from a book of 1300-1500 debtors. Our structure is small, driven teams who, together with their team leader, work towards defined goals. Please note that this is not a call-centre based position. We give you all the tools you may need to contact debtors and collect debt; phone calls, emails, SMS’s and WhatsApp at our offices. Our prescribed procedures, templates and defined methods are there to help our Collectors be as effective as possible and achieve their monthly target of collected monies.
Day to day duties include, amongst others, effectively communicating with new debtors and existing debtor queries, being in regular contact with the debtors on your book, collecting on the debt, following up on broken payments and keeping detailed and up-to-date records. Your work is supported by our Legal, Accounts and Tracing departments.

Candidate Requirements
Is this you?
Your verbal and written communication skills are excellent, as are your interpersonal and customer service skills. You are very organised; your tasks are planned and prioritised daily, weekly and monthly, and you pay attention to detail. Being analytical and problem-solving are your super-powers! You are tech-savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software because these help you be more effective. You are also still human and can empathise with debtors and adapt your approach to different debtors.
You’ve completed matric and preferably have 3 years of debt collection experience in a non-call centre environment under your belt.
Package & Remuneration
We offer a monthly salary commensurate with experience, starting from R7000 plus a competitive and open-ended commission structure. A discretionary bonus may be awarded. Benefits include Medical Aid and pension.
