Job Purpose

The Intermediate Business Analyst plays a key role in analysing business needs, processes, systems, and data to improve efficiency and support decision-making. The role bridges the gap between business and technology by delivering well-defined solutions, while working more independently and contributing to end-to-end solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Stakeholder Engagement:
  Engage with business and IT stakeholders to understand requirements, manage expectations, and provide feedback on solutions.
• Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
  Elicit, analyse, document, and prioritise business requirements using structured techniques such as workshops, interviews, and user stories.
• Solution Design:
  Contribute to the design and recommendation of practical, scalable solutions aligned to business needs and objectives.
• Data Analysis:
  Analyse data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities to support strategic and operational decisions.
• Process Improvement & Mapping:
  Analyse, document, and optimise business processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• System Analysis:
  Evaluate current systems and recommend enhancements or new solutions aligned with business goals.
• Testing & Quality Assurance:
  Participate in and support testing activities (UAT, regression, defect management) to ensure solutions meet requirements.
• Documentation:
  Develop and maintain high-quality documentation including business requirements, functional specifications, and process maps.
• Training & Support:
  Facilitate user training and provide support to ensure successful adoption of new systems and processes.
• Project Support:
  Collaborate with project teams to support planning, execution, and delivery of projects within scope and timelines.
• Research & Continuous Improvement:
  Stay informed on industry trends and contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Problem Solving:
  Identify business challenges and provide structured, data-driven solutions.
• Compliance & Risk Management:
  Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements (e.g., NCR, POPIA), and risk standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Education:
  • Grade 12
  • Degree or Diploma in Business, IT, or related field (NQF 6+)
  • Business Analysis certification (advantageous)
• Experience:
  • 2–4 years in Business Analysis or similar role
  • Experience in financial services / fintech / microfinance (preferred)
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills
