Employer: Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited

    Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Peaple & Culture Skills Development Coordinator to join the Head Office team in Midrand. To support the implementation, coordination, and administration of bursary, work-integrated learning (WIL), learnership, and learner development programmes, ensuring effective execution, compliance, and tracking in line with the People Transformation strategy. The role focuses on operational delivery, programme coordination, and reporting, ensuring learner initiatives are efficiently executed and contribute to workforce capability and BBBEE requirements.

    Minimum Requirements…

    Essential:
    • Matric or Senior Certificate, Diploma in Human Resources, Education or related field 
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in skills development, bursary administration, learnerships, or WIL programme coordination. Working knowledge of Skills Development Act, BBBEE Codes (Skills Development element), and SETA frameworks.
    Advantageous:
    • Diploma in HR / Skills Development Facilitator / Transformation. Experience working with SETAs, TVET colleges, and Universities
    • Exposure to RPL, graduate programmes, and learner administration systems. Experience in healthcare, retail, or regulated industries

    Bursary Programme Administration & Support:

    • Administer bursary programmes in line with approved frameworks, policies, and criteria.
    • Coordinate bursary application processes, documentation, and selection logistics.
    • Track bursar academic progress, funding disbursements, and contractual obligations.
    • Maintain accurate bursary records and ensure audit-ready documentation.
    • Support placement and integration of bursars into workplace opportunities where applicable.

    Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordination:

    • Coordinate WIL placements in line with agreements with academic institutions.
    • Liaise with Learning Partners and Line Manager to facilitate learner placement and workplace exposure.
    • Track learner attendance, progress, and completion of workplace requirements.
    • Ensure required documentation, agreements, and evaluations are completed and stored.
    • Provide administrative support to ensure learners receive structured and compliant workplace experience.

    Learnerships, Internships & Graduate Programme Support:

    • Support the rollout and administration of learnerships, internships, and graduate programmes.
    • Coordinate onboarding, contracts, stipends, and learner documentation.
    • Track learner progress, completion, and absorption into the business.
    • Ensure alignment with SETA requirements and BBBEE reporting needs.

    Regulatory, SETA & Compliance Support:

    • Support SDF with WSP and ATR data collection and submission processes.
    • Ensure learner programme documentation meets audit and compliance standards.
    • Maintain learner records in line with SETA and legislative requirements.
    • Assist in preparing documentation for audits and verification processes.

    Stakeholder Coordination:

    • Act as a coordination point between learners, institutions, SETAs, and internal stakeholders.
    • Support relationships with academic institutions and training providers.
    • Liaise with Learning Partners and Line Manager to ensure smooth learner placement and support.
    • Provide administrative and coordination support for stakeholder engagements.

    Data Management, Tracking & Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate learner databases, dashboards, and tracking tools.
    • Track key metrics including:
      • Learner intake and completion
      • Bursary allocations and spend
      • Programme participation
    • Prepare reports and provide data inputs to the Manager for decision-making and governance reporting.
    • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and auditability.

    Programme Execution & Continuous Improvement Support:

    • Support the implementation of approved learner development frameworks and processes.
    • Identify operational gaps and escalate improvement opportunities to the Manager.
    • Assist in standardizing processes, templates, and documentation.
    • Support digitization and system-based tracking of learner programmes.

    General

    • Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.

    • Working knowledge of skills development processes, learner programme administration, and compliance requirements.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage administrative processes accurately.
    • Understands the operational role of learner programmes in supporting workforce capability and compliance.
    • Clear and professional communication with learners, institutions, and internal stakeholders.
    • Builds effective working relationships and supports collaboration across teams.
    • Ensures accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all learner programme documentation.
    • Able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and coordination requirements.
    • Proficiency in administrative systems, reporting tools, and learner tracking platforms.
