Role Purpose

The Cloud Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational oversight, technical assurance, reporting, and governance compliance of the Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. This role combines technical leadership, supervisory responsibility, operational accountability, and formal reporting, ensuring cloud services are stable, secure, compliant, and delivered in accordance with approved standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Operations & Service Oversight

• Supervise daily operations of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms.
• Ensure cloud services meet availability, performance, and reliability expectations.
• Act as escalation point for operational incidents and complex cloud issues.

Microsoft Azure Responsibilities

• Oversee deployment and management of Azure resources.
• Supervise identity and access management including Azure AD and RBAC.
• Ensure adherence to Azure security, cost management, and landing zone standards.

Microsoft 365 Responsibilities

• Supervise administration of Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
• Oversee licence management and Microsoft 365 governance controls.
• Supervise Power Platform usage within approved governance boundaries.

Security, Compliance & Governance

• Enforce compliance with approved cloud security policies and standards.
• Ensure least privilege access and segregation of duties are maintained.
• Support audits, risk reviews, and compliance activities relating to cloud services.

Reporting & Service Visibility

• Produce regular operational reports covering service health, availability, incidents, and capacity.
• Provide security and compliance reporting for Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Report on cost management, optimisation activities, and licence usage.
• Escalate trends, risks, and systemic issues to Cloud Services management.
• Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, and suitable for management and audit purposes.

People Supervision

• Provide task oversight, guidance, and coaching to cloud administrators.
• Review team work output for quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
• Escalate performance, capacity, or skills gaps to management where required.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years supervising or leading cloud administrators or support staff
• 3-6 Years hands on operational experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure administration
• Strong experience with Microsoft 365 (O365) administration
• Microsoft Defender / Purview exposure (DLP, sensitivity labels, eDiscovery)
• Demonstrated experience producing operational, security, and management reports
• Solid understanding of identity management, security, RBAC, and governance
• Experience supervising and supporting technical staff

• ITIL Foundation or higher – governance, service management, escalation handling
