Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Factories)
Formal maintenance management training (e.g. asset management, reliability, or maintenance planning fundamentals)
5-8 years maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment
At least 2 years in a maintenance leadership/management role
Proven experience in:
Continuous process plants (sinter, coke, blast furnace, power, cement, mining, etc.)
Managing large rotating and static equipment
Shutdown/major maintenance planning and execution
Strong working knowledge of:
Sinter plant equipment (mixers, strand, ignition furnace, wind boxes, ESPs, fans, conveyors, screens)
Mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance principles
Maintenance strategies:
Preventive & predictive maintenance
Breakdown and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
Ability to interpret:
Engineering drawings
OEM manuals
Maintenance standards and procedures
Demonstrated leadership in safety-critical environments
Solid understanding of:
Legal compliance (OHS, plant regulations)
Permit-to-work systems
Risk assessments and HAZOPs
Track record of incident reduction and safe execution of maintenance work
Proven ability to:
Lead multidisciplinary teams (artisans, planners, contractors)
Manage maintenance budgets and cost control
Set priorities under production pressure
Experience with:
Contractor management
Workforce planning and skills development
Performance management
- Lead GCC-certified maintenance of large-scale continuous process equipment, driving reliability and strategic shutdowns in a safety-critical environment. Manage multidisciplinary teams and complex technical systems like strands and furnaces to ensure peak operational efficiency. Deliver high-pressure technical precision to power global steelmaking.
