We are seeking a qualified and motivated Safety Technician/ Health & Safety Manager / Supervising Engineer to support our mining, quarrying, industrial and related operations, ensuring full compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, company policies, and applicable technical standards. The successful candidate will act as the company’s technical expert and trusted advisor on health and safety matters, providing practical and measurable recommendations to management while promoting a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for understanding, implementing, and ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, internal health and safety policies, management systems, standards, and operational practices. They will serve as the focal point for risk management processes, offering technical guidance and professional support to site management in the identification, assessment, mitigation, and control of workplace hazards and operational risks.
The role also includes the training, development, and support of supervisors, peers, and subordinates in the effective performance of their occupational health and safety responsibilities. The successful candidate will monitor the quality of this performance, provide feedback and coach when is required, and contribute actively to the continuous improvement of the site’s overall safety performance and culture.
A key part of the position will involve analyzing health and safety trends, incident data, and performance indicators in order to identify opportunities for improvement. Findings and recommendations must be communicated to management in a clear, structured, and actionable manner, supported by measurable outcomes and practical implementation plans.
The successful candidate will be responsible for occupational health monitoring and for carrying out and/or supervising workplace measurements and assessments, including noise, vibration, dust, illumination, ventilation, gases, and other relevant occupational exposure factors. They will ensure that all incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions if any are reported, documented, and investigated in full compliance with legal obligations, internal procedures, and company’s reporting standards.
In addition, the role requires the preparation and implementation of the site’s annual health and safety inspection and audit plan, as well as active participation in the development, monitoring, and achievement of annual health and safety objectives and performance targets. The successful candidate will oversee and support the implementation and maintenance of internationally recognized safety management standards, including ISO 39001 and ISO 45001, and will participate in the development, review, and continuous improvement of the occupational health and safety management system.
This includes involvement in the preparation and updating of risk assessments, job safety analyses, safe work instructions, standard operating procedures, emergency response plans, policies, and other related health and safety documentation. Where required, the successful candidate will also undertake the responsibilities of a Supervising Engineer, ensuring the safe execution of works and full compliance with the applicable technical, operational, and regulatory framework.
The ideal candidate should hold a degree in Mining and Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Resources Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline that enables them to legally undertake the duties of a Safety Technician and Supervising Engineer. Previous experience in a similar role within mining, quarrying, milling, industrial, or other related operations is required. Professional experience gained either in Greece or abroad will be fully considered and is regarded as equally valuable.
Candidates should be registered with the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). A strong working knowledge of Greek Mining Law and the broader occupational health and safety legal framework is essential including the Greek Mining and Quarrying Regulations. The successful candidate should also demonstrate solid knowledge and practical experience in risk management, incident investigation and reporting, inspections, audits, and occupational health and safety management systems.
Very good command of MS Office and strong data management, reporting, and analytical skills are required, together with the ability to interpret statistics, identify trends, and support decision-making through meaningful analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English are essential, as is possession of a valid driving license.
Additional qualifications such as experience with ISO-based management systems, exposure to high-risk industrial environments, involvement in workforce training, and experience in drafting technical procedures and emergency response documentation will be considered an advantage.

Requirements
• Degree in Mining and Metallurgical Engineering or in Mineral Resources Engineering.
• Registered member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE).
• Proven experience as a Safety Engineer within mining, quarrying, milling, or other heavy industrial operations.
• Strong knowledge of risk management principles, incident investigation and reporting, as well as health and safety auditing and inspection practices.
• Very good understanding of the Greek Mining Legal Framework and the applicable occupational health and safety regulatory environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Greek and English.
• Very good command of MS Office applications, along with strong database management and reporting skills.
• Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret health and safety data, trends, statistics, and performance indicators effectively.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 39001, or other occupational health and safety management systems.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound professional judgment, and communicate effectively with both site personnel and management.
