- Process weekly/fortnightly wages for permanent and seasonal workers
- Capture and verify:
- Time sheets and attendance records
- Work performed across different orchards / blocks / cost centres
- Accurately allocate all labour costs to:
- Specific orchards/blocks
- Packhouse cost centres
- General farm cost codes where applicable
- Manage deductions (housing, electricity, loans, etc.)
- Generate payslips and maintain payroll records
- Ensure compliance with minimum wage legislation and sectoral determinations
- Reconcile labour data against:
- Daily work logs
- Supervisor reports
- Packhouse labour records
- Produce weekly/monthly reports:
- Labour cost per orchard/block
- Labour cost per hectare
- Packhouse labour cost summaries
- Monitor and flag:
- Misallocations or incorrect cost coding
- Unusual labour variances between orchards or activities
- Support management with cost analysis and budgeting insights
- Maintain accurate employee records (contracts, IDs, onboarding documents)
- Manage seasonal worker onboarding and exits
- Track:
- Attendance and absenteeism
- Leave records
- Disciplinary processes
- Assist with recruitment and contract administration during peak periods
- Ensure compliance with:
- South African labour legislation
- Sectoral determinations for farm workers
- Internal HR and payroll policies
- Assist with external audits (ethical, labour, export compliance)
- Maintain well-organised and audit-ready documentation
- Based on a working farm and packhouse environment
- Extended hours may be required during peak operational periods
- Market-related salary based on experience

Candidate Requirements
- 3–5 years’ experience in wages/payroll and HR administration
- Experience in agriculture or farming operations (table grapes advantageous)
- Strong understanding of:
- Time-based wage systems
- Labour cost allocation to cost centres
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems
- Working knowledge of South African labour legislation
- FCS / Crest previous experience will be advantageous
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong numerical and reconciliation skills
- Ability to manage large volumes of workforce data
- Strong organisational and administrative ability
- Good communication skills (English; Afrikaans advantageous)
- Ability to work under pressure during peak periods
