Reporting to the EMEA Foreign Trade Manager
Responsible for the company's Trade Compliance Program for the South African Operations.
Proactively works to minimize compliance risk while maximizing operational and cost efficiency. Will be required to support the excellence of the company's Supply Chain organization
Responsibilities:
Function as an expert resource to all South African Operations in the areas of import/export transactions, Export Control regulations, Free Trade Agreements, (Bonded Warehouse is an advantage), policies and procedures with a strategic focus to streamline efficiencies and ensure compliance with regulations
Design, implement and manage a robust trade compliance program for the ZA Operations, including the ongoing development and maintenance of local procedures and training program
Conduct risk assessments, identify compliance issues, and oversee implementation of corrective measures, assist with governmental audits
Manage import transactions on operational level: handle broker requests, ensure data quality and import entry file completeness, lead times and import entry archiving in document management system
Implement and manage internal import compliance audits
Monitor utilization of beneficial duties (Free Trade Agreements), apply for refund if required
Ensure compliant application of Tariff Codes (HTS) and Country of Origin
Support the company's international cargo security and AEO licensing programs.

Candidate Requirements
Requirements:Bachelor’s/master’s degree in business, law or comparable
Min. 3 years’ experience in Trade Compliance (main focus on import compliance)
Ability to contribute expertise in a matrix organization
Excellent interpersonal and communicational skills
Ideally, you will also have:
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
Has demonstrated proactive investigative / problem solving / lateral thinking skills
Ability to develop strong working relationships within the business
