Preventative & Reactive MaintenanceImplement and manage a preventative maintenance program for all hotel assetsPerform routine inspections of:Guest rooms and suitesPublic areas (lobby, spa, restaurants, pool, gym)Back-of-house facilitiesRespond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdownsEnsure minimal disruption to guests during repairs Technical Systems ManagementOversee maintenance of:Electrical systems (lighting, DB boards, generators)Plumbing systems (pipes, geysers, drainage)HVAC systems (air-conditioning, ventilation)Pool and spa equipmentLiaise with specialist contractors when requiredEnsure all systems comply with safety and operational standards Team SupervisionSupervise and coordinate maintenance staff and contractorsAllocate daily tasks and monitor work qualityProvide on-the-job training and mentorshipMaintain staff schedules, shifts, and standby duties Compliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with:Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulationsFire safety standards and evacuation proceduresConduct regular safety inspections and risk assessmentsMaintain records of maintenance logs, incidents, and inspections Facilities & Grounds MaintenanceOversee upkeep of:Swimming pools and water featuresLandscaping and irrigation systemsExterior buildings, pathways, and parking areasEnsure the property maintains a pristine 5-star appearance at all times Stock & Budget ControlManage maintenance inventory (tools, parts, consumables)Source and procure materials cost-effectivelyAssist with budgeting and cost control for maintenance operations Guest InteractionOccasionally interact with guests in a professional and courteous mannerResolve in-room maintenance issues quickly and discreetlyUphold the hotel’s luxury service standards

Education & Certification
- Trade qualification (Electrical / Plumbing / Mechanical)
- Certification in HVAC or refrigeration (advantageous)
- Health & Safety certification (e.g., OHS Act knowledge)
Experience
- 3–5+ years in a hotel or hospitality maintenance environment
- Experience in a 4 or 5-star hotel highly preferred
- Proven supervisory or team leader experience
Technical Skills
- Strong multi-skilled technical ability:
- Electrical fault finding
- Plumbing repairs
- HVAC systems
- General building maintenance
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals
Administrative Skills
- Maintenance scheduling systems (e.g., PMS or job card systems)
- Basic computer literacy (Excel, email, reporting)
- Record keeping and reporting
Personal Attributes
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Hands-on and proactive approach
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure in a guest-focused environment
- Flexible with working hours, including weekends and standby
