Injection Moulding Tool Setter/Maintenance Technician vacancy in Johannesburg, South. Minimum 5 years of working experience in injection moulding. 2 years of experience in Polycarbonate.

Job Title: Injection Moulding Tool Setter/Maintenance Technician
Geographical area: Johannesburg South, Gauteng

Minimum qualifications and experience:

Matric + Trade Test (Toolmaker, Fitter & Turner, or Plastics NQF L4/L5)
Minimum 5 years injection moulding, of which at least 2 years on polycarbonate (PC) or PC-blends
Experienced with clamp tonnages 50–450 t (Arburg, Engel, Haitian, Demag or equivalent)
Cold runner, 2-plate / 3-plate, slides, lifters, collapsible cores, hot runners (Mold-Masters, Synventive, Husky)
Computer literate – able to log tool history, raise spares requisitions, read BOMs
Valid Code 08 driver's licence; forklift / overhead crane licence

Responsibilities:

Tool change-over time (SMED)
Cycle time vs. tool standard
Scrap rate (polycarbonate)
Unplanned tool downtime
Preventive maintenance compliance
First-off approval turnaround
Polycarbonate dryer compliance
Tool history log completeness
