We are looking for Butchery General Assistants for our client who is based in Heidelberg. You must reside in or around Heidelberg.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Production Support: Assisting in cutting, trimming, and prepping meat products, as well as deboning and grinding.
Packaging & Labeling: Packing meat products, ensuring accurate labeling, and managing stock rotation to prevent wastage.
Hygiene and Maintenance: Maintaining strict cleaning, hygiene, and safety standards in the butchery area, including cleaning tools, machines, and workstations.
Stock Control: Receiving stock, storing it in freezers/refrigerators at required temperatures, and replenishing displays.
Customer Service: Serving customers at the meat counter, addressing queries, and providing service at the retail level

Requirements and Skills

Education: Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience: Previous experience in a butchery, retail, or meat processing environment is highly beneficial.
Physical Demands: Ability to work in cold environments and stand for extended periods, as well as the capacity for physically demanding work.
Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to work fast without sacrificing accuracy, and basic knowledge of meat cuts.
