Senior Accountant: Tax & Payroll Compliance | Sandton, Johannesburg

Hire Resolve is seeking a technically robust Senior Accountant specializing in Tax, Payroll, and Statutory Compliance to join a dynamic organization in Sandton. This role is a strategic and operational cornerstone, ensuring financial governance and compliance across multiple client payrolls and large-scale funded programs.

Key Performance Areas:

• Payroll Governance: Manage and oversee complex, high-volume payroll environments, ensuring total integrity and compliance with labor-related statutory obligations.

• Tax & Statutory Compliance: Lead all SARS submissions and ensure full adherence to the South African Income Tax Act, Tax Administration Act, and UIF/SDL Acts.

• ETI Optimization: Strategically manage and optimize Employment Tax Incentive (ETI) claims in strict accordance with current legislation.

• Financial Reporting: Support the Head of Finance by ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining rigorous internal controls.

• Audit & Governance: Manage statutory audits and ensure all payroll and tax frameworks are audit-ready and fully compliant with IFRS for SMEs.

Requirements & Technical Knowledge:

• Experience: Extensive experience in a Senior Accounting role, with a proven track record in multi-client payroll environments and high-volume stipend management.

• Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of the ETI Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, and South African tax legislation.

• Systems: Preferred experience with SimplePay, SARS eFiling, and advanced MS Excel.

• Attributes: A compliance-oriented professional with strong analytical ability, high integrity, and the capacity to manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast-growing environment.

• Education: Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; professional tax or payroll certifications are highly advantageous.
