Purpose of the Role

Komatsu is seeking a highly skilled Manager: Financial Accounting to lead and manage the financial accounting function. The role is responsible for statutory and management reporting, compliance, governance, and effective financial controls, while leading and developing a high‑performing finance team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the financial accounting function, including fixed assets, cashbook, general ledger, and month‑end close
Ensure accurate and timeous statutory and management reporting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, tax legislation, and the Companies Act
Manage external audits, including preparation and resolution of audit findings
Oversee fixed asset management, depreciation, CAPEX reporting, and asset registers
Monitor cash management, bank reconciliations, liquidity, and solvency requirements
Maintain strong internal controls, governance frameworks, and accounting policies
Lead, coach, and manage the financial accounting team
Collaborate with senior leadership and key internal and external stakeholders

Required Skills

Sap: 4 to 5 years
Audit
IFRS / GAAP: 4 to 5 years

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications

CA(SA) qualification – essential
Registered with SAICA

Experience

Minimum 8 years’ relevant financial accounting experience
At least 2 years’ leadership / management experience
Strong exposure to statutory reporting, audits, and taxation
Experience in medium to large organisations, preferably within mining, construction, or industrial sectors

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of IFRS / GAAP
Sound corporate and VAT taxation experience
Advanced Excel skills
ERP experience (SAP preferred)
