Employer: M3 Human Capital Management
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role acts as an internal watchdog and advisor - ensuring that all costings, margins, and operational expenditures are accurate, justified, and aligned with business objectives.
This position goes beyond traditional cost analysis by actively identifying inefficiencies, challenging assumptions, and recommending corrective actions in collaboration with the MD and senior leadership. The role is central to improving profitability, strengthening financial discipline, and driving continuous operational improvement.
The incumbent will be responsible for: *Eensuring the business has a clear and accurate understanding of where money is being spent and where value is being lost; this includes reviewing and questioning internal costings, identifying inefficiencies in operations, and uncovering opportunities to improve margins and overall profitability *Investigate differences between budgeted and actual costs, highlight risks, and provide practical, easy-to-understand insights directly to the MD *Work closely with teams to address issues, improve processes, and strengthen cost control *Oversee procurement and inventory costs, while helping to improve systems and reporting so the business can make better, more informed financial decisions *All other tasks related to the position
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Cost/Management Accounting;
• Professional qualification (e.g., SAIPA or similar) preferred;
• Minimum 4–7 years’ experience in cost analysis, management accounting, auditing, or financial analysis;
• Strong exposure to operational environments (manufacturing, distribution, services, or sales-driven businesses);
• Experience in reviewing or auditing internal financial processes is highly advantageous;
• Strong computer literacy (MS Office & relevant financial software);
• Fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans).
