Our client is a well-established name in the construction and engineering sector, known for delivering large-scale infrastructure and energy projects, including Eskom and renewable power developments. They are looking for a dedicated HV/ MV OHL Design Engineer to join their team.

If you’re looking to take full ownership of overhead line design projects while working on 132kV and MV lines for Eskom, NTCSA, and renewable energy projects, then this opportunity is made for you.

What you will need:

3–5+ years’ experience in 132kV (or higher) OHL design
Education: Degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Strong Eskom self-build design experience (DRT approvals, final design packages)
Experience with MV lines in renewable energy projects (e.g., wind farms)
Professional Registration with ECSA as either PrEng/ PrTech
Advanced proficiency in PLS-CADD suite and AutoCAD

What you will do:

· Perform line profiling and tower spotting using PLS-CADD

· Prepare detailed design deliverables (profiles, drawings, stringing charts)

· Conduct structural analysis using PLS-TOWER and PLS-POLE

· Optimise routes for cost, constructability, and environmental impact

· Ensure compliance with Eskom, NTCSA, and SANS standards

· Support tender processes and provide technical input during construction
