Our client, an established fruit farming operation, is seeking to appoint a result driven candidate to be responsible for managing all production-related activities within an allocated production unit.

SECTION MANAGER (CITRUS)

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture (Citrus – advantageous)
• Minimum 2–3 years’ proven experience in citrus production
• Valid driver’s licence
• Computer literate
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with attention to detail
• Strong leadership ability and ability to work confidently within a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organise and manage all production activities within the allocated area
• Ensure timely and accurate execution of production tasks in line with planning
• Monitor and evaluate production efficiencies (spraying, pruning, irrigation, and contract labour)
• Collect and report relevant production data to the Production Manager
• Manage labour, stock, and production costs
• Lead, motivate, and develop team members, including supervisors and scouts
• Conduct regular meetings with scouts to ensure effective pest and disease management
• Identify deviations from production standards and implement corrective actions
• Support the Production Manager in achieving overall production objectives
