Management Accountant | Vereeniging (Vaal)

Hire Resolve is seeking a strategic and leadership-oriented Management Accountant to join a specialized industrial equipment supplier in the Vaal area. Reporting directly to the Finance Executive, you will take full ownership of the general accounting function and provide critical support in maintaining financial integrity and legislative compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management: Develop and maintain accounting processes, implement robust internal controls, and proactively identify and mitigate financial risks.

• Budgeting & Planning: Lead the annual planning and budgeting process, establish budgeting systems, and provide regular training to users regarding variance reports.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly journals, maintain balance sheet schedules, and complete bank reconciliations to ensure a smooth monthly closing process.

• Leadership: Directly oversee and mentor the Debtors and Creditors teams, driving accountability and high performance within the finance department.

• Audit & Compliance: Act as a key point of contact for audit queries and ensure all practices align with sound accounting standards and SOC legislative requirements.

Requirements:

• Education: BCom Accounting or an equivalent tertiary qualification.

• Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory capacity.

• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial accounting software and MS Excel.

• Attributes: Decisive insight, strong planning and organizing abilities, and the energy to initiate action in a fast-paced environment.

• Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Vereeniging/Peacehaven.
