Description
SSK currently has the following career opportunity in its Grain Department. The candidate must be able to work long hours (especially during harvest time), must not fear heights or be allergic to grain dust, must be physically strong and healthy to work optimally in a grain silo environment, and must be able to manage subordinates.

Responsibilities
The primary function involves grading grain crops and handling all silo-related grain administration and documentation, all POS transactions, assisting clients, and answering telephone inquiries. Taking samples or ensuring that they are taken correctly, checking and maintaining grading equipment, and conducting weekly quality and site inspections are also part of the responsibilities of the position. The candidate will also be trained in the following disciplines:

• Grading of the various grain types that are unique to SSK
• Grain receiving and shipping procedures
• Fumigation and storage procedures
• Occupational Health and Safety Procedures

Requirements

• Possesses a Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics
• Basic grain grading courses are essential
• Winter Grains grading certificate is an advantage
• Summer Grains and Oilseeds grading is preferred
• Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office
• Good interpersonal skills and a service-oriented approach
• A valid Code EB (Code 08) driver's license is a requirement
