- Maintain inventories of supplies and consumables.
- Maintain any necessary records of operations and tasks.
- Compile the duty roster and supervise laundry attendants against assigned tasks.
- Supervise the collection and sorting of laundry into separate loads.
- Supervise the use of washers and dryers including soap selection and cleaning formulas.
- Supervise ironing and distribution of articles.
- Oversee the cleaning of machines and filters at regular intervals.
- Report any machinery service or repair requirements.
- Ensure the laundry area is clean and organised.
- Ensure laundry service areas are cleaned and sanitised according to health and safety standards.
- Ensure laundry machinery is safely and correctly utilised.
- Manage and reconcile employee leave and attendance records.
- Respond to or redirect employee queries as required.
- Conduct employee appraisals.
- Manage first level labour relations matters.
- Identify areas for employee development and provide training.
- Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning and prioritising, and self-development.
- Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.
- Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution.
