Employer: Genesis Manpower Administrators

An Architectural Draftsman creates detailed technical drawings and plans from architects’ designs, ensuring accuracy, compliance with building codes, and support for construction projects

Key Responsibilities

Create technical drawings and blueprints from architects’ sketches and specifications for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Reproduce as built working drawings of building measured up.
Must be fully experienced using Caddie Software to produce 2D drawings
Incorporate measurements, calculations, and building codes to ensure designs are structurally sound and compliant.
Prepare construction documents for council approval.

Purpose of the Role

The architectural draftsman ensures that architectural designs are accurately translated into detailed plans that guide construction, maintain compliance with codes, and support the overall design vision. Their work is essential for the successful execution of building projects, bridging the gap between conceptual design and practical construction.

Work Environment

Primarily office-based, with occasional site visits for inspections or project meetings.

Reports to a Lead Architect or Design Manager and works closely with multidisciplinary teams.

May involve tight deadlines and fast-paced project schedules, requiring strong time management skills

Required Skills

Drafting Experience: 4 to 5 years
Architectural Drawings: 4 to 5 years
Caddie Experience: 4 to 5 years

Candidate Requirements

Required Skills and Competencies

Proficiency in Caddie Software.
Strong understanding of architectural fundamentals, construction methods, and building materials.
Attention to detail and precision in translating sketches into technical plans.

Qualifications and Experience

Education: Typically a diploma in Drafting, Architecture, or a related field.

Experience: 3-5 years prior experience in architectural drafting is preferred, with a portfolio demonstrating technical proficiency.

Certifications: Optional certifications in Caddie Software
