A leading logistics and transportation company specializing in maritime and shipping services is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Import Clerk to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment where efficiency, accuracy, and customer service are key. Key ResponsibilitiesHandle counter duties, including receipt and processing of documentsValidate original Bills of LadingLiaise with clients and provide excellent customer serviceReconcile payments for receiptingReceive and acknowledge release documentsCapture release documents and forward to the Account Manager for final releaseExpedite agent haulage releases for early delivery instructionsIdentify and notify customers to expedite release of direct delivery and reefer shipmentsInform customers of overstay deadlines and ensure surrender of documents prior to vessel ETBFollow up on uncleared containers to prevent transfer to state warehouseArrange movement of uncleared containers to depot before last free day at terminalProcess invoices accurately and efficientlyAssist in resolving client queriesOperate and utilize Navis systemsProcess carrier haulage instructionsFile and attach all release documentation for acquittalsSupport Customer Service Shipping (CSS) functions during peak periods or staff absenceEnsure all emails are attended to and acknowledged daily

Minimum Requirements

Previous experience in imports, shipping, or logistics (maritime experience advantageous)
Matric
Attention to detail, strict adherence to rules and regulation
Good Interpersonal skills
Admin orientated
Strong Computer and communication skills (MS Word, Excel, Navis, Outlook)
Planning and organising skills
Professional Candidate to deal with third parties at all levels
Able to get to the office before 08h00 everyday (punctual, self-disciplined)
Individual needs to be accountable and responsible under minimum supervision
Be a team player and able to work closely with colleagues under pressure and meet deadlines
Prepared to work extended hours and weekends when needed
