Our client, a diversified global chemicals company serving the mining, water, agriculture, and industrial sectors, has the above-mentioned position available in Somerset West. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities, including welding and equipment alignment, and is experienced in interpreting technical drawings and general engineering maintenance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Installations: Install, commission, and fabricate equipment and piping, including welding and fault-finding, while supporting project planning and completing maintenance records accurately. *Maintenance: Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, maintain records, and ensure good housekeeping while handling ad hoc tasks as required. *Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation, update SOPs, and ensure all activities meet company, SHEQ, and legal requirements. *General: Ensure cost-effective maintenance by identifying inefficiencies, managing critical spares, and participating in risk and SHEQ initiatives while complying with safety standards and permit systems; Issue clearances and maintain adherence to company regulations. *All other tasks related to this role.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
• Relevant post-matric qualification (NQF Level 3 or higher);
• Trade-tested Millwright (Red Seal) – essential;
• Minimum 3–5 years’ relevant experience as a Millwright;
• Experience in production, plant, workshop, and maintenance environments;
• Proven experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance;
• Welding certification – advantageous;
• Exposure to chemical or processing plants will be advantageous;
• Sound knowledge of engineering principles and maintenance practices;
• Reliable transport.
