We're looking for an experienced automotive professional to take full control of our fleet maintenance in Tanzania. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll manage a team of local mechanics and be personally accountable for the condition and roadworthiness of a mixed fleet of 60 vehicles – Toyota Land Cruisers (75 series, converted into safari cars), Alphards, Coasters, and others. In the next 18 months we plan to grow the fleet to 110–120 vehicles.
All maintenance, mechanical work, electrical, welding, and bodywork is carried out in-house at our own garage facility. Outsourcing is not part of the model, and in the Kilimanjaro region, reliable external service providers are not available anyway. Your core responsibility is to ensure that every vehicle leaving the garage is roadworthy, and that the garage itself runs to a professional standard.
Your core responsibility is to ensure that each vehicle remains roadworthy.
Where you'll live and work:
This position is based full-time at our operations base in Machame village, rural Tanzania, at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro. It's a genuinely beautiful part of the world, but it is not a city. The nearest town with shops, supermarkets, and basic amenities is Moshi, roughly 30 minutes away. If you need urban comforts to function well, this role isn't for you.
The company will sponsor relocation and employment permit in Tanzania
