Our client in office supplies based in the JHB North is looking for a Renewable Energy Engineer. The Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing renewable solar projects/ Generator projects, ensuring they meet technical, safety, and regulatory requirements. The Engineer will carry out site inspections during manufacturing, construction and commissioning in order to ensure these activities are performed in accordance to the designSalary: R60 000 - R80 000 CTC Per Month - based on experience

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Delivery Time - Average time taken to deliver project proposals
On-time Delivery Rate - Percentage of project proposals delivered on or before the deadline

Design - Design and optimize solar systems, including photovoltaic (PV) and other solar technologies including generators
Design Review Cycle Time - Time taken to complete a thorough design review process
Populating project BOQ (Bill of quantity)
Design compliance and quality assurance inspections

Reviews technical studies prepared by consultants to ensure compliance with Grid code

Project Profit Margin - Overall profit margin achieved on solar energy projects
Project Cost Control - Variance between estimated and actual project costs

Partner satisfaction with communication and reporting
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and clients
Reporting Timeliness - Adherence to scheduled reporting timelines.

Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders
Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot technical issues and develop solutions
Optimize system performance and efficiency.

Minimum requirements:

Experience

Solar Industry: Minimum 5 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, specifically in solar project development, installation, commissioning and maintenance
Utility-Scale Solar: Experience working on large-scale solar projects is highly valued
Agricultural: Experience working on hybrid/ off grid solar projects is highly valued
C&I : Experience working on hybrid/ off grid solar projects is highly valued.

Solar Energy Systems: Hands-on experience with solar energy systems, including design, installation, and performance analysis
Energy Modelling Software: Proficiency in tools like PVsyst, Helioscope or equivalent
Electrical Engineering Principles: Understanding of electrical circuits, power systems, and control systems.

Project Planning: Experience in managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring
Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.

CAD Software: Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or PVsyst, HOMER and Helioscope
SCADA Systems: Experience with SCADA development, including software.

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues
Communication: Effective communication skills for working with teams, clients, and stakeholders
