Programme Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sports programme aligned with the school calendar.
- Coordinate seasonal sports codes (e.g. athletics, rugby, netball, soccer, cricket, hockey, swimming, etc.)
- Ensure inclusivity across all age groups and ability levels.
- Arrange inter-school fixtures, leagues, and tournament
- Organize internal sports events (sports days, inter-house competitions, fun days)
- Liaise and with other schools, sports buddies, and associations
- Appoint, manage, and support coaches (internal staff and external coaches)
- Ensure coaching and standards are maintained
- Provide guidance, training opportunities, and performance feedback
- Encourage participation and identify talented athletes
- Support high-performance and athletes with pathways and exposure opportunities
- Promote sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork
- Manage and schedules, timetables, and venue bookings
- Oversee transport arrangements for fixtures
- MaIntain accurate record of teams, results, and attendance
- Ensure compliance with school policies and safety regulations
- Oversee maintenance and use of sports facilities
- Manage procurement, storage, and inventory of sports equipment
- Ensure facilities meet safety standards
- Prepare and manage the sports budget
- Monitor expenditure and control cost
- Assist with fundraising initiatives where necessary
- Communication schedules, results, and update to parents, learners, and staff
- Promote sports activities via newsletters, social media, and platforms
- Build relationships with parents and the wider school commmunity
- Ensure adherence to safely protocols and risks mananagement procedures
- Oversee first aid readiness during sports activities
- Ensures compliance with relevant South African school sports regulations and bodies
- Relevant qualifications in Sports Management, Physical Education, or similar
- Teaching qualification (advantageous, especially in schools where coaching is linked to teaching)
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Fully computer literate-MS Office Suite
- Valid driver's license and own vehicle
- 3-5 years' experience in sports coordination or coaching
- Experience working in a school environment (preferred)
- Proven ability to organize events and manage multiple sports codes
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Leadership and team management ability
- Passion for youth development and sport
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- knowledge of school sports structures in South Africa
- Basic budgeting and financial management skills
