Our client is seeking to appoint a Temporary Senior Accountant to support their finance team based in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing key accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining strong financial controls across the business.

Key Performance Area: *Third-Party Billing & Assets: Oversee third-party billing, invoicing, and asset sales; Maintain asset registers, including depreciation and journal processing; Manage intercompany invoicing and payment. *Financial Control & Compliance: Review supplier payments prior to release; Assist with VAT, SAWIS, and inventory processes; Ensure compliance with internal policies and statutory requirements; Perform balance sheet reconciliations. *Reporting, Audit & Team Support: Prepare financial analysis, budgets, and variance reports; Support audits, month-end, and year-end processes; Drive process improvements and strengthen controls; Mentor junior staff and support cross-functional collaboration.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
• BCom Accounting or equivalent;
• Approximately 5+ years relevant accounting experience;
• Experience in the agricultural industry advantageous;
• Strong computer literacy, specifically advanced Excel skills (Xero advantageous);
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans & English);
• Own reliable transport & a valid driver’s license.
