Kelsey Construction is seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Planner to join our team. This role focuses on planning, coordination, and workflow management within a manufacturing and project-driven environment, with oversight of technical drawings and project documentation.
The successful candidate will ensure that projects are effectively planned, tracked, and executed, while maintaining alignment between design, procurement, and workshop activities.
Main Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule, and actively manage all in-house manufacturing projects to ensure on-time delivery.
Take full ownership of project timelines, tracking progress and driving accountability across design, procurement, and workshop teams.
Oversee job cards and ensure accurate tracking of work progress in the workshop.
Implement and manage Kanban systems to optimise workflow, material control, and inventory management.
Review and interpret technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support accurate in-house fabrication.
Liaise between design, procurement, and workshop teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution of projects.
Identify delays, bottlenecks, and risks, and take corrective action proactively.
Drive progress to meet deadlines across all project and manufacturing activities.
Ensure all project and manufacturing documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date.
Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), checklists, and work instructions for all manufacturing and assembly processes.
Communicate directly with the CEO regarding project status, priorities, and risks.
Assist with material planning, quantity calculations, and machine/tool inventory management.
Support workshop teams with technical guidance on manufacturing processes and CNC/machine operations.
Ensure compliance with company standards, safety policies, and quality procedures.
Monitor and maintain quality standards across all in-house manufacturing processes.
Provide guidance on machine setup, operation, and maintenance to optimise CNC and workshop efficiency
Candidate Requirements
Relevant qualification in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing / engineering environment
Valid Driver’s License
Proven experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or mining environment
Strong understanding of technical drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Experience managing job cards and/or Kanban systems
Excellent organisational and planning skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Strong problem-solving and coordination abilities
Good communication skills and ability to work across teams
Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) as well as MS Projects
Advantageous: Exposure to Autodesk Inventor or similar design software
