A leading national real estate franchise organisation is seeking an exceptional Head of Operations to help lead, strengthen, and support the performance of its franchise network.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for a proven real estate professional who understands that strong franchise operations are built through disciplined support, practical field leadership, commercial insight, and a deep commitment to the success of every branch. The successful candidate will serve as a key partner to Head Office and to the national franchise network, helping drive operational excellence, brand consistency, branch performance, and sustainable growth across the country.
This individual will draw on the full capability of the Head Office team to support franchisees in the areas of operations, recruitment, marketing and Training Resources. The role requires a confident, consultative leader who can engage credibly with franchise owners, principal agents, managers, and support teams, and who can translate strategy into practical action at branch level.
Key Role Outcomes
The Head of National Operations will be expected to:
- Support the operational and commercial performance of franchise branches nationally.
- Act as a trusted advisor to franchise owners and branch leaders on the full operating model of a successful real estate business.
- Drive consistency in standards, systems, reporting disciplines, and execution across the network.
- Work across Head Office functions to ensure franchisees receive coordinated support in operations, marketing, training, recruitment, and performance enablement.
- Strengthen franchisee capability in leadership, branch management, agent productivity, and growth planning.
- Help protect and elevate the brand through operational discipline, accountability, and service excellence.
Operations Leadership
- Provide national operational leadership across the franchise network.
- Support franchise offices in implementing Head Office systems, standards, initiatives, and priorities.
- Monitor branch health, performance trends, operational disciplines, and execution against key business expectations.
- Identify underperformance early and work with franchise leaders on practical improvement plans.
- Promote operational consistency and franchise excellence across all offices.
Franchise Performance and Business Support
- Partner with franchise owners, principal agents, and branch managers to improve branch output, productivity, profitability, and market effectiveness.
- Guide offices on the key levers of branch success, including recruitment, retention, agent productivity, market visibility, service standards, culture, and leadership rhythm.
- Assist offices in interpreting performance data and turning insight into action.
- Support business planning, accountability structures, and branch growth strategies.
Consultative Field Leadership
- Serve as a high-trust, high-credibility advisor to offices across the network.
- Consult with franchisees on branch structure, leadership effectiveness, team alignment, operational bottlenecks, and business-building priorities.
- Support the practical application of best practice across sales, management, lead generation, local area marketing, recruitment, and training utilisation.
- Bring a balanced approach of encouragement, accountability, and problem-solving.
Cross-Functional Head Office Coordination
- Work closely with marketing, training, operations, leadership, finance, and support functions at Head Office to ensure aligned and effective franchise support.
- Mobilize the right internal resources to meet franchisee needs and business priorities.
- Ensure Head Office support is practical, coordinated, and outcome-driven.
- Act as an internal bridge between franchise realities and Head Office strategy.
Marketing and Growth Enablement
- Support offices in leveraging national and local marketing resources effectively.
- Help franchisees translate brand tools and campaigns into branch-level growth.
- Work with the marketing function to strengthen branch adoption, market presence, and lead-conversion disciplines.
- Guide offices on how marketing, recruitment, brand visibility, and performance must work together.
Recruitment and Talent Support
- Advise branch leadership on recruitment strategy, growth planning, and attracting quality agents and talent.
- Support franchisees in building productive teams and leadership depth.
- Encourage sound onboarding, development, and retention practices at office level.
Governance, Standards, and Professional Credibility
- Maintain strong working knowledge of the South African property sector and the regulatory environment.
- Uphold the professional expectations of the industry and relevant regulatory bodies.
- Lead with credibility as a qualified real estate professional who understands the compliance, professionalism, and operational responsibilities of the sector.
Essential Experience
- Significant real estate industry experience.
- Proven leadership experience within a real estate, franchise, or multi-branch environment.
