Monteith Trust, an established fruit farm, currently has a Production Manager position available based on a 110ha farm in the Grabouw area. The successful candidate is a goal-driven individual, with strong planning and administrative skills.

The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Management of all facets of production *Effective management of the unit's human resources *Recruitment, selection & appointment of production personnel *Staff induction, training & goal setting *Safety, health & hygiene standard training & checks *Planning & checking attendance & work records *Participatory planning & management of spray chemistry & plant nutrition *Management of water, irrigation & energy *Conflict management & ensuring discipline *Managing housing rules & ensuring that housing area is up to standard *Participative planning for the financial budget & its management *Control over expenses *Maintenance of property, buildings, tractors & implements *Maintaining SIZA & GlobalGap standards *All other tasks related to this position.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

• A relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous;

• Minimum 3 years’ proven experience in a similar role;

• Experience in the apple and pear industry will be advantageous;

• Good interpersonal and communication skills;

• Willing to work overtime and weekends as required;

• Valid driver’s license.
