An valuable career opportunity is available for a Junior Shipping Controller in the Western Cape – Apply today!

With a focus on efficient shipment and distribution, you will coordinate local and international logistics activities, including managing shipping documentation, schedules, transportation, invoices, and purchase orders, liaising with transporters and suppliers, negotiating transport rates, and ensuring compliance with sales and export requirements. You will also oversee operational activities such as container handling and stock movement, while managing warehouse stock, monitoring inventory flows, coordinating reworks, and maintaining accurate records across systems. In addition, you will work closely with production, sales, and logistics teams, while overseeing forklift operations and ensuring adherence to operational standards.

Candidate Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have at least 2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment. A relevant tertiary qualification (BCom or Diploma in Supply Chain/Logistics) is essential. Strong administrative, coordination, and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting, will be key. Proficiency in inventory systems (such as Syspro), attention to detail, and effective communication skills will further support your success.
