Looking for full time Technicians who can assist with IT projects in Johannesburg, South Africa. The primary location of these assignments will be at some of the leading Data Centers and co-locations around the country. Our goal is to recruit a liaison technician(s) in and around Johannesburg, South Africa where these Data Centers are located.
Assignments may include the following:
• Installation / DE-installation of server equipment.
• Server migration and/or reallocation.
• Server and switch cabling which may include both STP and Fiber patch cabling.
• Troubleshooting server outages and network connectivity issues.
• Proper disposal of any decommissioned equipment.
Candidate Requirements
• Flexible availability
• Must be able arrange a team of 2 or more technicians according project requirements or as needed.
• Must possess good communication and collaborative skill.
• Basic knowledge of servers, switches, CAT cabling types, Fiber cabling types, and Fiber transceiver modules. This will also include cable dressing and cable management.
• Ability to read and comprehend customer project spreadsheets and flow charts that online project tasks.
• Must come prepared with a WiFi-ready notebook/laptop and basic tool kit.
• It is strongly recommended that the technician possess PPE to prevent injury while moving equipment or working within any server cabinet.
• Ability to lift servers and/or switches at weights of up to 75lbs.
*Note: Salary for techs will be discussed upon interview. All projects and assignments will be contract-based.
