• Grade 12/Standard 10 Certificate.
• Certificate of Competency from Chief Inspector of Explosives (CIE).
• Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.

• 2 years practical experience in material handling.
• Advantageous: 6 Months practical underground experience.

• Order, order, receive and issue as well as control explosives as per the Explosives Act Ensure the explosives are stored according to the regulations contained in the explosives act.
• Ordering the correct amount and type of explosives in Compliance with the Explosives Act. Place the orders with the procurement department. Liaise with suppliers.
• Correlate between what’s ordered and received by filling in the Magazine Register. Receive and handle explosives as per regulation and pertaining to explosives act. Offloading of explosives and checking quantities
• Arrange for transporting of explosives from surface magazine to underground store as required. Ensure that the correct quantity and type of explosives as quoted on the transportation sheet are adhered to.
• Oversee the issuing of explosives from underground store that have been logged in magazine register. Ensure that all rules and regulations pertaining to explosives are adhered to.
• Capturing of all stock issued on the system after daily stock taking.
• Issue daily instructions when necessary. Check the entries made by the Explosive Material Handlers in the ordering and issuing book and reconcile with the entries in the Magazine Register. Ensure the handlers are working according to the act and standard operating procedure within the explosive Act. Training the handlers on how to use and handle explosives.
• Ensure proper stacking and sorting of various types of explosives as per the Explosives Act. Always ensure clean and neat work area.
• Ensure correct record keeping of all relevant registers, issues, receipts and daily explosives records. Financial auditors, DMRE And Environmental auditors.
