Job Purpose
To deliver accredited Commercial Cleaning training and conduct fair, valid and reliable assessments in line with QCTO, SETA and internal Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. This role supports the full learner journey through structured facilitation, workplace guidance, evidence verification, accurate learner administration, moderation readiness and quality assurance support, ensuring learners are prepared for workplace performance, compliance and certification
Job Rationale
This position provides the first operational quality checkpoint in the learning and assessment cycle. As a front-line educator and assessment practitioner, the Facilitator & Assessor shapes learner readiness, practical competence and workplace behaviours while safeguarding record integrity, assessment quality and standardised delivery. The role links facilitation, assessment, learner support, administration and quality controls so that programme delivery remains audit ready, learner-centred and aligned to workplace realities.
Key Duties
- Programme Facilitation, Learner Engagement & Implementation
- Assessment, Evidence Verification & Portfolio Management - Plan and conduct formative and summative assessments in line with QCTO/SETA
- Moderation Support, Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Administration, Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination - Submit monthly and quarterly reporting and support documentation for SETA / QCTO and internal quality requirements.
- Training Environment, Learner Support & Resource Management
Job related knowledge
- Comprehensive knowledge of ETQA requirements, NQF principles and assessment principles such as fairness, validity, reliability and consistency.
- Working knowledge of QCTO and SETA compliance requirements relating to enrolment, assessment, moderation, certification and audits.
- Proficiency in Quality Assurance management, Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) controls, record-keeping and reporting systems related to learning delivery and moderation readiness.
- Understanding of learner support protocols, escalation processes, documentation standards and POPIA requirements.
Job related skills:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience conducting training and assessment for adult learners in the field of Commercial Cleaning / Commercial Cleaning.
- Facilitators must possess practical, real-world experience in the subject matter and remain current with relevant trends and developments in the field.
- Trainers should be in possession of a Commercial Housekeeper qualification with at least ten (10) years’ post-qualification experience working within a commercial environment.
- Strong facilitation, assessment, coaching, administration, stakeholder engagement and deadline management capability.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills for portfolio review, compliance tracking and audit readiness.

Legal requirements
- N / A as a stand-alone statutory licence requirement; however, the role must comply with applicable AQP / SETA registration requirements, POPIA, site safety rules, organisational policies and QMS standards.
Technical competencies
- Experience and competency in the use of Microsoft Office at intermediate level, including Excel functions such as PivotTables, VLOOKUP and Data Validation.
- Experience and competence in using email, LMS / QMS systems and cloud-based document storage.

- Ability to use standard office equipment.
Physical requirements
- This role requires the Facilitator to conduct training and assessment using approved resources and materials in classroom, workplace and occasional site-based environments where there are desks, chairs,
- a whiteboard, stationery and other approved learning aids.
- Resources beyond the norm will be provided when necessary, and the Facilitator will be trained in the use thereof.
Candidate Requirements
Essential / Minimum qualifications:
- Unit Standard 117871 – Conduct facilitation using a variety of given methodologies OR SAQA ID 97154 – Occupational Trainer Certification OR
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resource Development (HRD) including modules in facilitation and assessment.
Assessment competency:
- Registered Constituent Assessor with the relevant Assessment Quality Partner (AQP).
- Unit Standard 115753 – Conduct outcomes-based assessment, or equivalent assessment competence.
- Certificate of Competence in relation to conducting assessment.
Preferred / advantageous:
- Unit Standard 115759 – Conduct moderation of outcomes-based assessments.
- ODETD qualification at NQF Level 6 or higher.
- Diploma / Degree in HRD, Education, HRM, Administration or a related field.
Certifications / registrations:
- Professional body / AQP registration required for the applicable field of expertise.
Work Expereince
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Facilitator in a formal training environment.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a registered Assessor conducting assessments.
- Experience with classroom-based and workplace-based training for adults on National Qualifications Framework (NQF) learning programmes.
- Experience in learner portfolio management, evidence verification, QMS record-keeping and SETA / QCTO submissions.
- Exposure to moderation processes, audit preparation, corrective actions and learner administration will be advantageous
