Regional Manager Garden Route

Role Purpose
To manage store operations and delivery in the assigned region and ensure that the region is profitable, compliant and resourced to support the retail and business strategy.
Criteria for the role:
Essential:
- Previous Store Management Experience
- Must be a Regional Admin Manager currently for at least 3 years
Roles and Responsibilities:
Retail Operations Management:
- Manage and oversee the regions day-to-day operations such as regional performance, conduct
- detailed analysis and ensure alignment with divisional objectives.
- Analyse regional performance, propose improvements, and implement measures to boost efficiency.
- Collaborate with store management team to ensure effective execution of new site openings within the specifications and time frames provided.
- Align and drive store expansion growth prospects that delivers convenience to our customer.
- Identify and mitigate any process implications associated with site openings to ensure continuous improvement.
- Foster a positive work environment, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among store employees.
- Coach and support Store Management teams, while ensuring that store managers are trained and developed in current and updated processes and systems.
- Keep abreast with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to proactively drive business growth.
Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage regional budgets, ensuring cost control and variance management.
- Analyze and set in place structures to achieve set profitability targets of the region are achieved.
- Ensure effective cost containment.
- Oversee and manage the overall performance of the stores in the region, ensuring they meet and exceed sales targets, customer service standards, and operational goals.
Retail Operational Excellence:
- support category strategy implementation to drive sales and profitability for the region.
- Monitor and evaluate retail performance, including sales, margins, and inventory levels.
- Ensure efficient and effective retail operations, including inventory management, devise best fit practices for regional store operations to be shared as recommendations to the Divisional Manager.
Risk Management and Internal Control:
- Implement operational adherence measures to mitigate company risk and address internal control requirements and policies.
- Identify and assess potential risk factors to assist in the development of risk mitigation and internal control initiatives.
- Analyze and address compliance matters and collaborate with Store Management teams to drive compliance with policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and company regulations and policies across all stores.
Employee Development and Management:
- Provide operational direction and support to Store Management.
- Ensure that the company's vision and values are “lived”. Communicate and lead through the values of the organization.
- Communicate effectively and facilitate a good flow of information amongst store employees through Store Management.
- Manage the development of high-performance teams within the Region through teambuilding, performance management and succession planning initiatives.
- Empower Store Managers to make decisions and recommend tailored solutions to the region’s specific challenges and guide them through coaching and mentoring practices.
- Ensure a healthy workplace climate and culture is maintained through effective and consistent employee relations practices and processes that are aligned to group policy.
- Collaborate with HR and Regional Admin Manager to ensure sound talent management, training and succession planning in stores to meet retail objectives.
- Ensure alignment of the regional recruitment plan and practices with the Employment Equity targets.
- Manage and provide feedback to Store Managers on performance and ensure coaching and development of these managers.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Establish and maintain solid relationships with suppliers, vendors, and other business partners to ensure efficient operations and foster mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Collaborate constructively with cross functional teams and stakeholders in the organization to achieve Regional, Divisional and company objectives.
General:
- Ensure that the Stores in the Region adheres to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Oversee and manage the adherence to Health and Safety rules and regulations.

Technical skills: Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), numerical skills. Adaption and mastery of company technical systems at role touchpoints.
