Boplaas 1743 Estate, situated in Simondium, has the above position available for a dynamic and experienced General Manager who will be responsible for the overall performance of citrus production and packhouse operations.

This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure production targets, packhouse efficiency, quality standards, and cost control are consistently achieved.

The incumbent will be responsible for (but not limited to): *Oversee and coordinate daily operations across production and packhouse *Align harvesting with packhouse capacity to maintain consistent flow and minimise bottlenecks *Manage operational budgets and control labour, input, and packaging costs *Ensure compliance with export standards, food safety, and quality requirements *Lead and manage production and packhouse teams, with clear accountability for performance *Plan and manage seasonal labour to meet operational demands *Oversee maintenance of equipment, packhouse, and farm infrastructure *Work closely with producers and head office to ensure alignment and delivery *All other tasks related to the role.

Essential qualifications, skills and experience:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in agriculture, horticulture or business; a postgraduate qualification will be advantageous;

• 8-10 years’ experience across citrus production and packhouse management;

• Strong analytical skills with excellent understanding of fruit production and packaging;

• Sound financial understanding and experience managing operational budgets;

• Practical, hands-on management style with the ability to take ownership and drive results

• Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with a dynamic team

• Excellent communication and conflict management skills
