Job Title: MillwrightLocation: Germiston, JohannesburgSalary: R25 000 CTC, depending on experienceResponsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment. The role requires strong technical expertise in electrical systems, pneumatics, PLCs, VSDs, and overall plant reliability.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

Qualified Millwright (Red Seal) obtained via Sol-Tech
Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Valid driver’s license
Ability to work independently and under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding on plant equipment
Install, test, and commission electrical systems including motors, control panels, and drives
Diagnose and repair breakdowns to minimize downtime
Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and manuals
Carry out preventative and planned maintenance as per maintenance schedules
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards
Assist with machine upgrades, improvements, and modifications
Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
Support commissioning of new equipment and production lines

Technical Competencies:

Excellent understanding of pneumatics and pneumatic systems
Working knowledge of PLCs (fault finding & basic programming)
Strong experience with VSDs / Variable Speed Drives
Electrical installation and commissioning experience
Mechanical systems: bearings, gearboxes, shafts, pumps, conveyors, etc.
Fault-finding using diagnostic tools (multimeters, insulation testers, etc.)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and high safety awareness
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and breakdowns when required
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently

Health & Safety:

Must comply with all OHS and company safety regulations
PPE must be worn as required
